Getroi: Violent Murdering Revenge

He is a retcon, for me. I never had a real chance to even draw him until recently. I am constantly working on making decent male characters and villains.

In the circles I frequent, male characters are usually quite dismissible, or are F***/squeak-toys for the superpowerful female characters, punching bags or scratching posts for said female characters, or some ad hoc, and knee jerk, attempt at role refusal from what is normally seen in comics. The females are there to be for the superheroes. It is not the most pleasant notion that Males re shown so poorly.

Villains tend to err on the side of being weak throw away characters, whose only function is to be beat up or killed by the overpowering female character. That is not what I do. In fact, the villain/antagonist is much more likely to be the victor than the hero/heroine is.

Honestly, some of the fan OC supers are depicting using their powers and strength in such a way that they are the bad guys not the actual bad guys. Heck the twist is they were fighting back or die trying. That comic of *jnw550's "Lady Titan" really irked me. The "I don't give a damn" attitude just rubbed me the wrong way. Don't misunderstand, its fascinating, but as a male, it's kind of upsetting.

It is turned the other way, in a sense. We need more strong MALE characters, who aren't bullies, thugs, utterly oblivious to the concerns of others, and so on. I do that those, too. They are heroes, and some are paragons (Jaikard), demigods (Adonis), leaders (Sato Hima), and masters of their craft (Kino Noslapfio).

In Getroi's case, he is an antagonist. I needed a better reason for him to be such. Read and find out.

Anyway that's my rant. I guess I'll check my journals to see if I have not that one before. If NOT I'll try to go into it in more detail sometime.
