The uniforms for all students in the Mystic League and Mystic School are largely alike. Only color variation separates them.
The Uniforms are made of synthetic fibers of reactive polymers designed to stiffen and harden on impact. This makes the uniforms suitable as light body armor. A consideration given the occasional propensity for fighting between students, the rare attempt on a students life by an outside entity, the occasional use of the uniform in lieu of a proper clothing for errands, missions assigned to students so they can gain needed experience, and simple accidents.
The gold or silver, if an academics only student, pieces are actually part of the wearable computer that is the jacket. The Computers are linked to the secondary Computer mainframe to prevent hacking and otherwise unauthorized access. The primary terminals are the wrist plates which have some scanners but a holographic spatial interface for ease of use. Even though the suits have huge memory and computational capacities, they will not replace the basic Book tablet (not shown) nor will they do homework. They are learning aids but have no real ability to do the work for the student.
The Shoulder guards also have a basic shield generator able to protect the wearer against most energetic and mystical attacks up to a rather finite limit. The shield can also protect against crushing pressure up to 3000 ft for as long as ten minutes or mirco-atmospheric pressure down to as little as .00024 atmospheres as long as the jacket as power. This is generally long enough for the rescue beacon to summon help or for the student to commit a teleportation spell to get to safety. Movement provides recharging but can be recharged by external sources, including modest heat sources. Do not set them in or to close to fire. The Uniforms are only fire resistant, up to 1000 kelvins, not fire proof. Shields will aid in fire protection but will drain quickly.
The Jackets are built on fairly ubiquitous technology but are still very expensive, costing as much as a medium-rate performance or luxury land vehicle. Loss of the jacket will incur serious reimbursement costs on the student. Destruction of the Jacket is covered in the schools property insurance. Rate hikes will be taken out of the student's regular stipend if the student is found to be at fault and/or could have avoided the damage or loss.
For this reason, very few students will wear their uniform on away errands and will have their own "super suit" or adventure clothing, which may actually be better protection than the school uniform. It is known that Salba's martial arts uniform, which is rated as military grade heavy flexible armor is the strongest and most durable adventure suit. Riikoa's is the most sophisticated and utterly indestructible super suit, yet she can easily destroy it with her powers. Super suits and adventure wear vary widely but the general theme seems relative immodesty with notable exceptions, such as Kina and Roberta Starchase.
The Athletic uniform is actually best for all athletic endeavors and has a higher protective capacity that the standard uniforms. If a student must wear a uniform or they do not have their own "super suit" or adventure wear yet, then the Athletic uniforms are cleared as light combat suits and will suffice in most situations. Students are strongly advised to get their own acceptable super suits or adventure wear as soon as possible.
Normal wear and tear is covered and the jacket is replaced ever two years regardless of condition.
Some mixing and matching of uniform components are normal. But in all cases, underwear is absolutely required. With the scanning technologies available yes they can tell without the strip search.
Strict dress policies concerning the uniforms are enforced heavily. Dress manner is on par with the military and as such students are expected to be presentable at a moments notice. Good posture, walking and running manner, even the proper way to stoop down or kneel to affix one's shoes are strictly monitored it instill discipline and build self confidence by forcing students to take care of, if nothing else, their appearance.
Proper grooming and hygiene are a must as well. Students are issued a total of three full uniforms, though only one jacket with three removable and washable liners. Students may buy additional uniform components as they wish or can afford them. Several new Uniform configurations are being considered but are not expected for the current school year.

Oh my gosh, this PERFECT. You know, it's not even the clothing that gets me, not entirely. It's that the models have more variety than so many other pictures. I think the only word is LOVE.
